The Jotun A FPSO was built and started operations in 1999 with a design life of 20 years
The purpose of this project is to upgrade Automation systems (inclusive field equipment and valves) required to maintain the production until 2045
This project is a combined solution of three different approaches: lifetime extension (LTE), closing of GAP and modification due to new process conditions
GAPs between today's regulations and/or standards due to changes from the regulatory framework in force during the original design as well as technological development during its 20 years of operation shall be thoroughly assessed
Necessary upgrades are to be decided case by case
In some cases, new equipment to replace existing has been recommended due to the total work required for the equipment to cover given regulations and standards
Heritage SCADA System Upgrade Project FEED: 413104-00054 Trinidad & Tobago: The existing SCADA system is being upgraded to an advanced virtualized system which includes hardware, software, and firmware for Offshore, Midstream and Land business units
New SCADA is a modular and scalable system with potential for expansion and growth in future with increased monitoring and control at the facilities
SCADA system, CCTV AND telecommunication system engineered for remotely monitoring and control the production operations of facilities/sites throughout the operations of the three units: Offshore, Midstream and Land
Phased migration is required which allows system modernization in gradual steps, replacing the HMI or a particular unit first
Once this is completed, can take advantage of solutions improving operations and safety
Taking into account of current plant's operations and the state of its facilities, works to carefully plan and implement a hot or cold cutover from the existing system to a new SCADA system
Through close collaboration with plant personnel and a methodical approach, vendor should be able to minimize disruptions to current plant's operations while moving the individual control loops and controllers over to the new system
