Adel M. Abdelaal is a Professional and Environmental Senior Manager with 21 years of experience in the Environmental, CSR, Environmental and Social Auditing, Compliance, Community Development, Resettlement, Grievances Management, Air Pollution Abetment and Hazardous Waste & Chemicals Management according to National, Regional and International standards especially related to IFC PS, Equator Principals, API Guidelines, EPA Guidelines and Basel Convention. Currently He’s the Environmental Manager of Egyptian Refining Company (ERC) - ERC Hydro-Cracking Refinery Project — Petroleum complex — Mostorod - Egypt. Capable to assess the community needs, build a solid and Sustainable relationship. He was a key person for major Environmental / Social / Hazardous waste projects for Private and governmental clients and managed diverse teams of professionals. Team leader and developing project teams, providing technical leadership and ensuring that the work is carried out cost effectively is another area of his expertise. Has the ability to analyze complex problems, review and evaluate project risks and ensure effective utilization of resources. He can accomplish challenging assignments throug h the art of co-ordination, intercultural understanding and outstanding communication skills. Has a wide range experiences in Environmental related fields such as Environmental and Social Management, Strategic Environmental Plans, CSR, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Studies, Air Pollution Control, Sustainable Development, Environmental Permit, Public Awareness, Risk Assessment, Environmental Management Plans and Programs, Environmental Policy, Strategy and Guideline Formulation, and Integrated Environmental Management, Review and Manipulation of Data; Identification and Assessment of Potential Negative Environmental and Social Impacts and Benefits; Reviewing of Environmental related studies and identifying the mitigation measures. He was a key person for establishing Environmental Horizons Co. KSA 2010, played a key role for developing Environmental Business and put the company on the track of remarkable Environmental services provider in Saudi Arabia throug h joint venture partnerships with leading Environmental Technology and Services companies. In few years Environmental Horizons Co. made contracts with Giant Entities governmental and private sectors such as ARAMCO, SABIC, SECO, NWC and Presidency of Meteorology and Environment PME, made joint venture with WSP group which is the largest Environmental and Engineering group in the Middle East. He was the key person for managing all environmental requirements for one of the biggest Haydro Cracking refinery project in MiddIe East from scratch till the Start up including establishing of all required plans, poli- cies and procedures, managing all environmental activities including air monitoring , surface and ground water monitoring , soil management , noise monitoring , hazard and non hazard waste management in addi- tion to take all mitigation measures and required corrective action. He represented the project in all Environmental audits conducted by IFC ( International Fund Corporation) and other consultants audits such as ERM , FMO, DEG and European Bank audits. He built a team of diverse professionals to support the environmental activities.
