Primary authority on GD&T, print interpretation, and inspection methods.
•
Work with engineers and technicians to ensure prints use proper dimensioning and GD&T that matches product fit, form and function as well as the manufacturing method and inspection methods available.
•
Responsible for creating all Zeiss Calypso programs and validating those programs.
•
Train and assist inspection technicians with use and programming of measuring equipment.
•
Create temporary fixtures for prototype and production parts for use on CMMs and optical equipment.
•
Design permanent fixtures for production and supplier parts for use on CMMs and optical equipment.
•
Work with engineers and CAD technicians to create drawings for manufacture of fixtures as well as machinists and 3D printer technicians on the creation of the fixtures.
•
Ensure smooth program operation with completed fixtures; qualify and validate the fixtures.
•
Troubleshoot problems with measurements and advise on courses of action.
•
Review inspection procedures and advise on changes or improvements ensuring use of best practice.
•
Perform inspections using CMMs or optical equipment when needed to support inspection technicians.
•
Assure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices, and company documented procedures and systems including ERP.
•
Work under limited supervision with direction given only broadly stated objectives and desired outcomes.
•
Continued to pursue and take courses to improve my knowledge, skills and leadership abilities.
